Why Can't I Download This TikTok Video? 6 Real Fixes

When a TikTok download fails, the cause is almost always one of six things. Run through them in order and you will solve the problem — or at least know for certain that the video cannot be saved by anyone.

1. The account is private

Videos from private accounts are not publicly reachable, so no downloader can fetch them. There is no legitimate workaround — asking the creator directly is the only path.

2. The video was deleted or made private

Links outlive videos all the time. If the clip no longer plays in the TikTok app itself, it is gone — save important finds early next time.

3. The link is broken or incomplete

A copied link can get truncated in chat apps. Make sure it starts with https and contains tiktok.com. When in doubt, re-copy from the share menu and paste again.

4. The creator disabled downloads
